About the event
Shaping the Future with Torres Strait Islander Knowledge deepens understanding of the historical, cultural and systemic realities shaping the experiences of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and challenges participants to examine how these realities influence everyday practice.
Beyond compliance, this workshop focuses on shifting behaviours, strengthening accountability, and embedding culturally safe and responsive engagement where it matters most.

Impacts of colonisation
Government policies and activism
Deepen understanding of Zenadth Kes (Torres Strait Islands) and Ailan Kastom
Culturally safe and responsive practice
Participants will receive a certificate of participation and a resource booklet to help continue their journey.
Delicious Torres Strait Islander catering by Bina's Kitchen - participants will be provided morning tea and lunch.

A proud Wagadagam and Dowareb woman with ancestral ties to Mabuiag and Murray Islands, born and raised in Townsville.
With over 30 years of experience working in the Townsville community, Topsy leads cultural advisory and capability development grounded in Torres Strait Islander knowledge and lived experience.
